Since 2014, I’ve been on the faculty of the Whole Novel Workshop at the Highlights Foundation, where I co-lead The Writer’s Brain Trust, a unique, interactive creative writing workshop curriculum I own and developed with my friend and teaching partner, Nicole Valentine. I also co-lead an Intro to Short Fiction webinar for MG and YA writers also at the Highlights Foundation with my friend and colleague, Nora Shalaway Carpenter.

I also frequently offer writing workshops to teen writers in the Ithaca, NY area with my friend and teaching partner, Anne Mazer. We have led successful workshops at the annual Spring Writes Literary Festival of the Finger Lakes and at Buffalo Street Books, and have recently begun offering programs for after school or homeschooled teens. I have lectured on various aspects of the craft of creative writing at the Vermont College of Fine Arts, Tompkins Cortland Community College, the Spring Writes Literary Festival of the Finger Lakes, the Young Adult and Children’s Literature Conference (YA Summit) at UNLV, the Highlights Foundation, and at the Horn Book at Simmons Colloquium.
